Mould made in Germany, 100% high-alpha cellulose, bright white & warm white, neutral pH, chlorine-free, 300gsm, 4 natural deckled edges, medium textured surface, paper has no surface sizing at all, with very little internal sizing. These sizing characteristics give the paper a soft handle with amazing absorption qualities and less need for soaking in preparation for printing.
Most certainly no need for soaking overnight; misting or dampening with wet blotters will suffice. Even though the paper's composition is high alpha cellulose (wood fiber) and not cotton, it does not take away from its ability to take deep embossings without cracking around the plate edge and still dry flat after printing. The paper has great dimensional stability.
Available in two sizes: 22 x 30.7 inches (one localized watermark of an encircled rooster) & 47.3 x 31.7 inches (two watermarks - the encircled rooster & HAHNEMUHLE spelled out and bordered; both marks are localized in diagonally opposite corners of the sheet). The soft handle and strength of copperplate make it an ideal choice for all printmaking techniques especially etching & embossing, as well as it's suitability for all drawing applications: pencil, charcoal and pastel.
This is a less expensive mould made paper without compromising its deluxe appeal and performance on press. Touted as being the best "copperplate" printing paper in the market.
